Org Constitution Article 8: Productivity Stewards
Flexibility is a central tenet of this constitution, and ushering in the right adaptations to the organization often requires a dedicated guide—someone who’s explicitly accountable so things don’t fall by the wayside. Enter: productivity stewards— designated representatives who facilitate these changes in partnership with relevant parties. Given the importance of their mandate, productivity stewards report directly to the general manager of their respective organizational unit. However, they should still perform their regular job for at least half of their capacity to remain in tune with ongoing operations and challenges.
Monitoring - Productivity stewards continuously evaluate the organization for necessary improvements. They must become well-versed in productivity metrics and internal surveys, gaining both a micro view of their specific unit and a macro view of the broader organization.
Revisions - Armed with this comprehensive understanding, productivity stewards should lead the way in rationalizing processes. They must remove processes that do not add significant value or are redundant across teams or units. Conversely, they should facilitate the creation of new processes where needed, working in partnership with relevant working group representatives. This continuous refinement ensures that the organization remains agile, efficient, and well-aligned with the intent of its organizational constitution.
This concludes the first version of The Organizational Constitution! I'll publish a super abbreviated Organizational Constitution as a single document soon.
