OREGON NATIONAL GUARD

Oregon National Guard training has begun.

PART 1

Today was the start of training for the Oregon Guard. I have begun to train the trainers. So to day I started with the basics. How far does my radio signal reach, And why if I can hear them, They can't hear me. I also showed them how a message should look like when sent from one of there stations. Next week I'll cover how the radio's that the National Guard how it works, and what to do with the radio when you can't hear a station because of the back ground noise. I have found that none of these guys have any Idea what a HF radio does and why it does it. Or why it does what it does. But that is the best place to start with a blank page of paper. All is the build up for May 22nd when we start training some of the troops for 4 or 5 days. For me training is a way for me to extend my knowledge, and pass on what I know. It doesn't do you any good to pass on and not share what you know. Some where in the future some will learn some thing that you passed along and it will make their day. I think we hold to much about life in our selves and do not share the knowledge. Our life experiences are important to someone sometime in the future, or maybe even today. So to train someone or 200 is an investment in their future. So I have 7 more weeks to train the new trainer. And get him where his is at ease with the training and standing in front of people.
