Ordinary leaders

From the Old English?l?dere, "one who leads," agent noun from?l?dan," to guide, bring forth".
The word leader is not related to money and power, but for some very explicable reason, the modern world defines it as that. Why? Because if everyone knew that they are leaders, they wouldn't be following rules that make non-sense.
I once thought that a leader is a person in front of an organization telling people what to do. I was actually letting society, meaning a small group of people in power who already defined the word and actions, tell me what a leader is. But I have some suspicions that something was wrong. Then one day, in a leadership class, I opened my eyes and discovered that ordinary people are also leaders. I realized my grandma, Alicia, was a leader.
My grandma couldn't finish school because her mom died when she was nine years old, and she became the person in charge of her house.
My grandma didn't study veterinary, but she helped many people with their sick animals.
My grandma was a midwife, but she never learned to become one.
My grandma opened more than five restaurants, and she didn't have an MBA.

My grandma was a leader.
I am looking back at every moment that I shared with my grandma. She showed me how to be a leader without saying any words to me. And she is not the only one.?
There are many ordinary people like you and me doing great things: ordinary people who are guiding their families, their classrooms, their relationships. Look at yourself; 'SEE' you are a leader.
Don't let society tell you what a leader is because a leader is not only a person who has money and power. A leader is a human being. A leader can see how things can be improved and rallies people to move toward that better vision.
