"Ordering In" Can Make A Difference
Where I live in San Clemente, Calif., we have a diverse community, the same scenario as most everyone does. Old residential neighborhoods, with longtime residents. Some older buildings in need of repair and some newer residential neighborhoods with more modern, larger homes. But we all frequent the various restaurants and small shops on our main street—Del Mar—and our part of famed Pacific Coast Highway. We are one community, we all support and frequent the businesses around us. And it has been heartbreaking to watch the ebb and flow of the local dining scene. If you are eager to support your local business owners, read about how I am making a mindful decision to do just that…[Here]

4 年Hey Karen, thank you for sharing your thoughts. I called a friend of a friend who owns a successful bar and restaurant that is suffering horribly in Pennsylvania. At my suggestion they are serving takeout free meals for Christmas weekend for everyone in their small town that is in need. My truck is filled with potatoes, onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, and pineapples. We don’t sell them anything. Our donation inspired their regular suppliers, Sysco, US Food and Performance Food Group to donate meats and all other ingredients and materials to make this a beautiful event. Successful companies blessed with a good year like our companies should get going on these types of events. In twenty-five years when my grandchildren ask, “Zayda, we know you kept sending us produce deliveries early when we couldn’t go out.” “What else did you do?” And I will have lots and lots to tell them. That guides me to encourage our staff and others to give and help and don’t stop! Thank you Karen!

4 年Other big issue is...many households have less income coming in. So as much as they would like to order out, other priorities must come first. Dining out is a luxury. Paying utilities, health insurance, etc..is a must.
