Team Orchard is pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at Business Vision Live on 11th?May.
An event bustling with many other SMEs that brings together over 3,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors. Oh, did we mention that it's all in-person?
As you all know, we like to make things personal when it comes to Employment Law, and that means we'd love to see you there and have a chat, so if you're attending, find us at stand 365 for some fantastic photo-ops.
ACAS WARNING?OF REDUNDANCIES

As reported in People Management, a YouGov?survey of 1,074 senior business decision-makers?found that 18%?were likely to reduce the number of employees within the business within the 12 months to March 2023.

BRITISH HR AWARDS
Sadly, we didn't win either of the "SME of the Year" or "Consultancy of the Year" categories at the British HR Awards.
However, we are still immensely grateful to have been nominated for these awards let alone be finalists!
HR & EMPLOYMENT LAW TRAINING
As the late John F Kennedy said “Learning and leadership are indispensable to each other”.
We believe that learning should never end and we are able to offer training to both leaders and team members which will help improve the workplace culture and understanding.
We cover the following topics but we can also tailor-make a training session for you: -

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT PAY REMOTE WORKERS LESS
“A two-tier salaried workforce could amount to indirect discrimination”.
"It is possible that many of those who opt for reduced pay in return for flexible working will be women”.
Some businesses?are thinking of cutting the pay of workers who don't want to return to the office. But is this really a good idea?

OUT AND ABOUT WITH TEAM ORCHARD
April was a bit of a quieter month for Team Orchard. Lucy and Jemma took some time off during the Easter holidays, leaving Nat and George to hold the fort.
The last couple of weeks has been fairly busy though, with some actual in-person events. Lucy, Nat and George enjoyed Waffle over Waffle sponsored by Molly Moodle Media.
Jemma has been to a couple of in-person events as well.
May and June are looking pretty busy though, and we can't wait!

GUEST BLOG
What Insurances Do Employees Need To Think About For Working From Home and Driving?
This month we have a guest blog from Anna Wilkinson, Anna has been telling us at Orchard about some insurances that employees should have in this hybrid and working from home world.
HAVE YOU TICKED THE BOX?
So you’ve brought an insurance policy for the protection of your?business, your clients & your staff. Well done… but your box of?‘insurance responsibility’ is yet to be ticked unless you have also?completed these tasks:
Private Car Insurance?
Did you know that “Social, Domestic, Pleasure & Commuting" will?only insure you to drive to and from a single place of work? As an?employer, if your staff have to drive ANYWHERE that is not one place?of work, you should be advising (and preferably checking) that your?staff take out ‘Business Use’ on their private car insurance policies. This applies?even if they drop the post off on their way home. If you don’t want your staff to have uninsured claims or be charged with ‘Driving Without Insurance’ (which could hold a hefty fine and an IN10 on their driving license – or worse, a driving ban) then I urge you to ensure you have explained this.
