ORCA Roundup April 2024

Strap yourself in for another month of ORCA updates - From spicing up a bland supermarket aisle to overturned caravans, here's what we've been up to!

Plus, the ORCA team continues to grow as our account manager Rosie Godwin gave birth to a baby boy on her first day of maternity leave at the end of March! Congrats, Rosie!

FRESH FROM THE STUDIO

Real Good Rice Co

The ambient food aisle in our supermarkets is undergoing a delightful transformation, with a surge in premium offerings for tinned, dried, and shelf-stable produce. Recent standouts like Bold Bean Co | B Corp? and Little's Coffee have set the tone for a wave of creativity to land in our kitchen cupboards - and we’re here for it!

At ORCA our passion is challenger brands, so we decided to inject some much-needed excitement into the mundane rice aisle. Our design team were given free rein to reimagine the category, resulting in the ‘Real Good Rice Co’, a dynamic, conceptual challenger brand, focused on elevating both quality and flavour.

Beer Festival for Inn On The Green

We're excited to share our latest project with Inn On The Green. As they gear up for their 17th annual Beer Festival the first May bank holiday, we've been buckling down creating Bristol-themed graphics, posters, pint glass designs, coasters, banners, bar runners, and more. So Bristol lot, make sure to swing by and grab your tickets at the bar or at the door! Plus, beers from Toast Brewing will be available to enjoy - two clients coming together - oh we do love to see it!

Find them at?2 Filton Road, Horfield, Bristol, BS7 0PA

Client Shoot with Mevalco

As we continue our partnership with Mevalco Fine Foods , we recently visited them in Bristol for a tour of their warehouse. We made the mistake of arriving bang on lunchtime to photograph the?array of unreal Spanish produce. Whilst our stomachs grumbled, we?captured some of their range of delicious and beautifully?packaged products.

Outdoor Escapades

Speaking of fresh.. Our?team have been getting a dose of that good spring air into our lungs lately, out and about in the English countryside. Over the bank holiday, Jaye Tayler spent the bank holiday weekend hiking in Snowdonia, enjoying the absence of?phone signal and sipping hot Ribena from a flask.?Karlis Kah embarked on a?road trip through Scotland, encountering some wild winds that blew over a neighbouring caravan!?He made it up to his knees in the sea, and drank plenty?of?Iron Bru along the way.

B Corp Spotlight: Pentire Drinks

It's Jaye Tayler 's turn to choose a B Corp to shine light on, and this month it's Pentire Drinks. Inspired by coastal adventures and foraging, Pentire crafts healthy, non-alcoholic spirits perfect for active individuals who cherish the outdoors. Their drinks capture the essence of coastal plant life, offering a refreshing and flavorful alternative for those seeking healthier choices. Jaye says, “It's so great to see a growth in appealing options in the alcohol-free space, an interesting cultural shift driven by younger demographics, and making the healthier choice easier to make! The Coastal Spritz just hits the spot as an Aperol alternative!”

The World of Hans Zimmer!

Recently, Victoria Lee had the incredible experience of attending? The World of Hans Zimmer. Featuring the music of two-time Academy-Award winning composer, the show featured a brand-new selection from his diverse collection of scores.?Her thoughts? "Absolutely?mind-blowing!" The performance showcased the immense talent of the musicians, offering an unforgettable experience celebrating the raw power of music. "If you want to go to a gig that gives you all the feels and makes you appreciate music in it's raw form, I would urge you to watch this show!"
