The Orange Juice Lessons

Growing up, while visiting my grandma, she always insisted to prepare some fresh orange juice for us.
Having the persistence of a sales person, the passion of an entrepreneur proud about her “product” and the unconditional love to her gransons, she always insisted and tried handling my rejection. ‘No thank you, I don’t want orange juice.” I said.
20 years later, and a life to learn from, I now, almost every other day, crave orange juice.
The story isn’t here, but I pay $4-$6 every other day to buy a cup of orange juice.
How come I rejected it when it was offered to me for free yet I easily pay for it now?
The Orange Juice Lessons I learnt and I would love to share with you:
1- Passion matters and is all what matters. Her passion wasn’t to prepare orange juice. She was (and is), passionate about bringing happiness to other people (in her family) and she did it through food (or juice).
What’s something you’re passionate about giving to the world?
2- Our awareness on what we actually need changes. Consumer behavior changes. Sometimes clients "refuse" to buy from us, not because they don’t need our product/service, but because they are not aware that they need it and how our service benefits them. Instead of trying to sell it to them, try to raise their awareness and “educate” them how our service/product can help them solve something (or more) in their lives.
What are you trying to “Sell” others and they haven’t been buying?
3- Price is (almost) never a problem and when people are aware of the value that you and your product/service can give them, they will give you their money. The fact that I’m aware that this fresh and cold orange juice will refresh me, and boost me up with all the nutrients and vitamin C; such value minimizes my focus on the price, because of my emotional desire for these benefits "rationalizes" paying money for it.
Instead of lowering your prices, raise the value your product/service brings to others and their awareness of it.
