Oracle had a big patch, but 50% of customers never updated

Happy Monday, everyone. There are 3 big cybersecurity alerts we want to tell you about this week. Oracle E-Business suite flaws let Hackers hijack business operations. While Oracle patched these flaws back in January, it is estimated that 50% of Oracle E-Business customers have not deployed those patches yet. It is important for all businesses to always keep all of their systems and network patched and up to date. By keeping your infrastructure current, you can avoid a lot of security risks.

It has been discovered by Hacker News that hackers have been targeting both military and aerospace industry staff. They have been posing as human resources and offering jobs through LinkedIn. It's important, whether on LinkedIn, your own email, or any other social media platforms, to never open an attachment from an unknown or unverified source. If you think the attachment may be valid, it's always a good idea to reach out to the sender first, just to verify they were the ones who sent it.

Last week, it was said that Avon Cosmetics had suffered a "cyber incident," although the extent of the damage is unknown. Avon released a statement that said: after suffering the cyber incident communicated on June 9, 2020, is planning to restart some of its affected systems in the impacted markets throughout the course of next week. Avon is continuing the investigation to determine the extent of the incident, including potential compromised personal data. Nevertheless, at this point, it does not anticipate that credit card details were likely affected, as its main eCommerce website does not store that information. No one is quite sure yet what happened to Avon, it seems they are not sure yet, either, but we should expect to see another statement or report from them later this week.
