Option 1: International Skilled Worker (for those without a skilled job offer in Saskatchewan)

We get a lot of calls and emails every day from people asking, "I want to move to Canada, but I don’t have a job offer. What are my options?" If you’re in the same category, this topic is for you! We’ll walk you through how you can still immigrate to Canada without a job offer.

International Skilled Worker (for those without a skilled job offer in Saskatchewan), This program is designed for skilled workers in in-demand occupations who do not have a job offer in Saskatchewan.

Key Points to Remember:

  • You can only apply to one stream at a time either the Occupations In-Demand or Saskatchewan Express Entry pool.
  • This program is for international skilled workers with high-demand skills.
  • Multiple applications are not accepted you must wait for a decision before submitting another application.

To apply, you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the government of Saskatchewan.

First, understand the term EOI (Expression of Interest). An EOI is not an application; it is a pre-application process where candidates indicate their interest in applying for the SINP.

Important Notes:

  • Not all candidates who submit an EOI will be invited to apply.
  • There are no limits on the number of candidates who can submit an EOI.
  • You can only have one active EOI profile at a time.
  • Refugee claimants in Canada are not eligible to apply.

Eligibility Points and Criteria?

We have already explained the Canada immigration process, which follows a point-based system. To qualify, you must score at least 60 out of 110 points based on the following key factors:

  1. Education & Training
  2. Skilled Work Experience
  3. Language Proficiency
  4. Age
  5. Connections to Saskatchewan (job market & family ties)

Also to qualify you must,

  1. Live outside Canada OR have proof of legal status in Canada.
  2. Not be a refugee claimant.
  3. Have post-secondary education, training, or apprenticeship comparable to Canadian standards (with a diploma, certificate, or degree related to your occupation).
  4. Provide proof of settlement funds as per Canadian requirements.

How Much fund I need to settle in Canada in this category ?

Skilled workers with a job offer or those already experienced with the Canadian or SINP process do not need to demonstrate financial ability to qualify. However, individuals without a job offer must show proof of financial ability to cover all expenses until they secure valid employment in Canada. As of August 30, 2024, applications to the SINP for in-demand occupations and Express Entry must include proof of settlement funds, as required by the Canadian government website.

The amount of money required to support your family depends on the size of your family. This table outlines the minimum amount needed to immigrate to Canada. If you have more funds, it's important to list the full amount in your profile or application.

Do You Need an Immigration Consultant ?

You don’t have to hire a consultant to apply for the SINP. However, working with a licensed immigration consultant can make the process smoother and reduce the chances of making mistakes that could lead to rejection.

It’s important to clear up a common misconception: Many people think that applying through a Canadian immigration consultant guarantees approval, but that’s not true.

While a consultant can guide you through the process and provide helpful advice, they cannot guarantee 100% approval. The final decision depends on several factors, including your eligibility, the documents you submit, and the province’s decision.

Even with a consultant’s help, if you don’t meet the requirements, your application may still be rejected. Remember, the consultant is not responsible for the outcome. it’s based on your eligibility and the province’s assessment of your case.
