Integration and Custom Backend Details

Gelato will be used, but it will be managed through the backend. Here is how the proposed flow works:

1. Order Placement

When an order is placed in the Shopify store, the backend automatically checks the order details to determine the appropriate fulfilment process.

2. Inventory Check

Airbox Inventory

- If the Item is in Airbox Inventory: The item is marked as fulfilled in Airbox. The backend ensures the order is not sent to Gelato if it is fulfilled by Airbox. Custom backend logic checks inventory levels before deciding on the fulfilment service.

Gelato Inventory

- If the Item is Not in the Airbox Inventory: The order is sent to Gelato for fulfilment. The backend directs the order to Gelato if the item is out of stock in Airbox.

3. Cancel Order in Gelato

For orders that are fulfilled by Airbox:

- Gelato API Integration: The corresponding order in Gelato is canceled using the Gelato API.

- Backend Automation: An automated process in the backend checks if an order is being fulfilled by Airbox. If so, the API call is triggered to cancel the order in Gelato.

4. Order Handling

In Airbox

- Order Management: The order is managed and fulfilled by Airbox if it's in their inventory.

- Backend Updates: The backend updates the order status to reflect that Airbox is handling the fulfillment.

In Gelato

- Order Management: Any orders intended for Gelato are canceled if they are now being handled by Airbox.

- Backend Coordination: Synchronization between the backend system, Airbox, and Gelato ensures no duplicate orders are processed.
