I recently worked on deploying Redis on our Kubernetes cluster to improve the performance of one of our applications. We utilized Redis as an in-memory caching utility to reduce the load on the database. Key highlights of the task:
1. Created a Redis deployment using redis:alpine with a custom configuration.
2. Configured a ConfigMap to manage Redis settings, including a maxmemory limit of 2MB.
3. Mounted volumes for Redis data storage and configuration management.
4. Deployed with proper resource requests and exposed the Redis service via port 6379.
