'Optimism' > 'Rejection'

Since last few weeks you have been in conversation with Nehal regarding her experiences and learning. Nehal has been one of the most motivating force within organization who can remind everyone that we are equipped with more strength than we could imagine, and every problem has got solutions if you know where and how to look for it. Today, in line with her ‘difficult to beat’ mindset, we are going to discuss why optimism is ultimate weapon for sales personnel who are willing to accomplish more than they did yesterday.

Nehal has been describing her mindset and what according to her are the essential traits for any individual who is working for the sales team of any business. Now, she wants to talk about one of her owned and best weapons of all time. Nehal suggests, uncertainty and rejection are inseparable parts of any given business. Especially when you are working in function like sales, you ought to be optimistic. Every door that you are knocking is not going to open for you. Nehal asks, isn’t it obvious? This world is not made so that you can start your business and sell more. There are billions of things happening around the world including similar kind of business, and in this chaotic universe filled with lot more to worry about, you need to be optimistic if you want to establish something which will bring satisfaction for you and recognition for your work.

1.      Uncertainties cannot be avoided:

Any sales representative will agree to this statement. Uncertainty from client’s end regarding interest, purchase decision, payments, feedback and more are part of the profession for them who are selling anything to customers. Unending attempt to eliminate uncertainty is going to bring in nothing but strenuous days and tiring end of the day. However, if you manage to be fine with such uncertainties and keep at what you are doing, possibility is higher that you can get through. Set processes for follow – ups, voice mail drops, LinkedIn InMails and more can get your results over period of time where you can see clear picture of particular deal in the pipeline.

2.      Optimism is ultimate weapon:

If you are into sales, and if you cannot take rejection on your face every single day, Nehal thinks you might be in wrong profession. All that sales personnel needs to do is, eat dirt, rejection, terrible feedback from innumerable clients, get back to desk next day morning and start selling again. You need to be optimistic about every single client query that you handle and try to convert it into transaction. Not everyone who gets lured with excellent marketing techniques will hand over dollars to you. Being sales personnel, Nehal suggest its our job to convince customers that the need they have identified can be fulfilled with products or services that you offer while successfully establishing an impression that yours is the best place where he or she can get it.

Those who are sitting amid great numbers by the end of the second week have not reached there because they were lucky enough to get such clients, it is clearly because they are putting in more than everyone else is putting in. So keep up the good hope, its just 15th of February yet, you've got 15 more days to reach your target for this month. Stop cribbing, complaining, whining. Pick up your phone and call one more time.

So, while we think of something new again where Nehal can share her experiences and learning for you, start being prompt and eliminate procrastination right away.

Till then, Gracias! ??
