Light is an institution ...

Today I will be sharing a recent letter that I published in my second newsletter "Letters From Heaven".

... because it is studied

In my line of work, when I talk to young people in my sector it is very common to hear them talk about working for the United Nations with so much admiration. I smile because it reminds me of my younger self. There was a time when I aspired to be Director General of the United Nations but not any more.

I understand that institutions are "made up of people" and "people are institutions". These statements are not inversely related. "People are institutions" means that the United Nations is an organization to the world but it is a person.

How? Whoever funds an agenda owns the institution.         

The United Nations may not have been created by a person but it was a person's idea.

One more example, so many people consider the height of ambition as a form of recognition. You want an award, fame and some form of influence that comes with public recognition.

You can be influential without public recognition!        

Who is Barak Obama's Consultant? What of Putin's? you don't know. Are they influential? Yes! Are they popular? No!

Public recognition is not a bad thing but I need you to remember that awarding and recognizing institutions were built by people. So instead of waiting to be recognized by an institution, you can build an institution that recognizes people.

A gatekeeper must gate keep at the right gate to be recognized as a gatekeeper. Sometimes gatekeeping means building the gate.

"You are an institution!" Your job is to create something that recognizes others rather than weep over the absence of the validation of someone.
