OPPOSITION DEFIANCE CAMPAIGN KICKED OFF TODAY IN #UGANDA
It started as a very boring day. I had woken up at 1:00AM Moncton time, which was 7:00AM Uganda time as people were supposed to hit the streets at 8:00AM.
My assumption was that the action would start at 7:00AM UG time as people were heading out to the FDC centres and streets to start it all.
They kept African time. By 10:00AM, no action yet. I went back to sleep and then when I woke up 11:00AM Uganda time, all the action had started.
The last message I shared on all social media was that Gen. Mugisha Muntu was at the FDC headquarters Najjanankumbi and there were under 20 people there. Then we asked people (I say because many were involved in this) if they expected Muntu to go out and march on his own.
People replied that let him go into the street and others would join him. Bang!
In addition, most of the deployment was around Kampala and terribly in Mbale as there were mambas and army everywhere.
Fast forward, the country went out in most places. So while the goons had been heavily deploying in some places, many other parts of the country did not have the goons.
I was very vocal and criticised poor organisation and no back up plans because surely we cannot rely on only the leaders to go and do the demos when they were surrounded. In addition, we need a chain of command in place. If A, B, or C is surrounded, we need D and E to jump in. Just do not disclose the chain of command. I am sure opposition can organise this and use phones to text or whatsapp to coordinate with each other.
Eventually, the people have spoken. They went out in large numbers and braced beatings, live bullets and tear gas and did it. Museveni got the message because Fighter Jets were in places scaring the wananchi but our wananchi were not scared. They just showed up hours later.
And now we know that in some places, those goons will not be there so if we know that they are in some areas and other areas are not deployed, then let us hit those areas.
Let us keep them running around like chicken with their heads cut off and stretch the army and goons to a breaking point.
Some of you may have noticed that the majority of our brothers and sisters in uniform were on the side of the people because usually they would have killed many today. Even M23 was not out killing people. Because now the power is on our side. These people have also been oppressed for a long time but cannot help us bring about the change we want if we do not show strength.
Congratulations to all the opposition and those who support this revolution. Thirty years of suffering is enough!

Museveni banned the media from live coverage of the demonstrations so all our information will be coming via mobile phones. So some videos and pictures will be blurred but we are all trying our best and I know you understand.
What is interesting is Museveni announced that he is pulling his army out of Somalia and CAR as if to scare the USA from backing off criticizing his junta government because he knows what is coming. Let him pull our brothers and sisters from his wars. We will not regret it. In any case, when we have the new government, our parliament will work with USA to return some soldiers into those countries to do peace keeping instead of killing unnecessarily and invading or helping to train the terrorists! Shaaa.. ENOUGH.
