Opportunity for some charitable fun!
I am back writing about charity, but PLEASE read to the end as there is an opportunity included!!
Without the massive impact of COVID-19 on KidsOut, we as a charity would have raised £500k from events that were of course cancelled as a result of the current pandemic. The greatest impact on what we are able to provide is the cancellation of our National Rotary KidsOut Day which in 2019 took over 28,000 children on a single day out. At the start of the lockdown, the focus changed and KidsOut launched its “KidsIn” initiative in response to the Covid-19 outbreak. With the generous backing of the Direct Line Group, the charity provided £50 worth of food vouchers to 3,200 families self-isolating in women’s refuges and over £100 worth of brand-new toys to 5,362 children in refuge. The majority of these families and children will have suffered from domestic violence before entering refuge.
During June KidsOut are sending a further batch of food vouchers to all the refuges that are not supported by a food bank. Once lockdown is lifted there will be a significant change in the population in refuge and the need to distribute at least another 5,000 boxes of toys during September. The need for KidsOut children services has never been so great, and we have found (we think) a fun way to try and fill the funding gap so that KidsOut can continue to provide much needed support to some of the most vulnerable children in the UK.
So on that front, I would like to introduce you to "Have A Ball At Home" (HABAH)(https://www.kidsout.org.uk/haveaballathome/)
HABAH is a UK wide “stay at home” dinner party we are running for one evening on Thursday 30th July from 7.30 pm - 9.00pm (BST). The nationwide fundraising ball at home will feature Chris Tarrant and other celebrities, a UK wide quiz, music, celebrity chef, magician, “money can’t buy” auction prizes and will be live to any of your devices. We have commissioned a short Teaser video which can be viewed via You Tube here; https://youtu.be/uqQS8n968vg
Would you be willing to join us by having a safe dinner party with friends (if allowed), loved ones and/or family and help the charity and the forgotten children and families? KidsOut have even prepared a suitable menu!! It would make a huge difference and you can be entertained via live-stream which will be broadcast to the nation on YouTube and the KidsOut website. If you feel able to support us, do please sign up through the link above. Ticket prices start from only £30 per household so there is really nothing to lose considered what we are offering in return.
Please help us help these children, whilst having a ball at home.

4 年Nick, is this UK attendees only, or can those of us elsewhere have a lunch / breakfast / midnight feast party as well?
