Opportunity to Help Families Survive COVID-19

I hope this mail finds you healthy and well!

 West Aid 1.0 was initiated by the Rotaract Club of Colombo West with the aim of assisting families who are affected by COVID-19 in Sri Lanka. Essential food items (dry provisions) worth Sri Lanka Rupees 1,000 (USD 5.30) were provided to selected families. This project was successfully completed in a span of one week. We were able to help 35 needy families.

 With the goal of helping more families in need, we launched West Aid 2.0 – which will be spearheaded by the Rotary Colombo West Family. We have also decided to increase the value of the essential food pack to Sri Lanka Rupees 1500 (USD 7.93) per family so that we can cover their basic food needs for a longer time period.

Each essential food pack will contain the following items:

Rice - 3kg

Dhal - 1kg (legumes)

Canned fish tin - 1 number 

Sugar - 1kg 

Tea leaves - 01 packet

Wheat flour - 1kg.

We are now accepting donations for West Aid 2.0. You can make a donation starting from a minimum of Sri Lanka Rupees 1,000 (USD 5.30). We will stop receiving donations on Sunday 10th May 2020.
