Opportunity Expanded: My Clients’ Legacy

Opportunity Expanded: My Clients’ Legacy

One result of the pandemic?and its related disruptions is a greater appreciation for the sanctity of life. The shock and trauma of witnessing death and destruction due to war, social and political unrest, climate change, and disease have been a wake-up call for many leaders.?Never before have I heard so many clients really considering their legacy and asking themselves what they will leave behind. As a result, I've become much more discerning about how I approach this question.

More than ever, the leaders I work with are willing to look inside themselves.?They understand how important self-awareness is to their success and well-being. I began using our Power of Purpose program to help my clients define their life’s purpose and understand their business's role in it. Through this life-changing experience, leaders:

  • Write their own eulogy?to define what's really important to them.?
  • Remove any obstacles?to their focus on what they find important.
  • Write their Personal Mission Statement?and ensure the mission of their business is aligned with it.?

The results have been remarkable and rewarding.?Here are some results from one current client, three business partners aligning on a shared future, and how to get there:

  • The best business results in their history
  • Increased profits, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement?
  • Strengthened resilience and sustainability for their businesses
  • Innovation through the pandemic and supply chain challenges?
  • Better serving the needs of customers, employees, and key stakeholders

Contemplating your legacy, and that of your business, can unlock its potential and help you continue successfully navigating the radical disruption of our times.
