Opportunity to Expand CenteringPregnancy in Maryland to Address Racial Disparities in Maternal and Infant Health

Persistent racial disparities in maternal and infant health in Maryland have led to increased rates of infant mortality and maternal mortality. Through their Statewide Integrated Health Improvement Strategy (SIHIS), the State has identified group prenatal care as a promising intervention with the best potential to reduce preterm births, maternal morbidity and improve maternal-infant outcomes.

If you are interested in starting or expanding CenteringPregnancy in Maryland, an opportunity exists to support this effort. Centering Healthcare Institute is offering support to expand CenteringPregnancy to four new practice locations in Maryland, with the aim of improving outcomes with the Centering model of group care.

Selected sites will benefit from in-kind and direct monetary support as outlined in the Request for Applications (RFA). Join us in our effort to reduce racial disparities in maternal and infant health and improve outcomes for birthing people and their children in Maryland.
