If Opportunity Doesn't Knock...
As part of the recent Launch of Rutherford Briants’ new Vision & Values, I have had the honour of being nominated as our August ambassador for “Make it Happen” by our employee of the month, Karis Pavey.
Being nominated to represent this within the business has given me a bit of time to reflect on what this means to me as an employee of Rutherford Briant and how I can carry this value as a benefit for my colleagues, candidates and clients.
Having worked at Rutherford Briant for over 4 years now, the clearest thing in my mind since starting in the industry is the trust and responsibility that people put into me day in day out. My candidates are trusting me with their career and my clients are trusting my judgement to provide talent that is going to help them achieve their long-term goals.
What I have concluded is that as the intermediary within my network, it is solely down to me to act as a catalyst between parties and literally “Make it Happen”. I take pride in creating opportunities for candidates I am working with, linking them up with prospective employers and clients as well as making my clients aware of talent that can positively influence their teams.
And this is exactly the culture we are developing internally at Rutherford Briant; the team here are working proactively day in day to provide the best customer service in the local market to those who engage with us as well as doing our best to be informative to those that we do not work actively with at this moment in time.
I am not one to dwell on cheesy, blissfully optimistic, corny sales phrases however someone once said to me “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door” and I can’t help but feel this is more poignant for me than ever.
