Opportunities during a crisis

Opportunities during a crisis

From any crisis an opportunity will arise all crises, and this is how we at Urbincasa understand it, despite this brief parenthesis of barely a week in the evolution of the works. The situation of confinement due to the coronavirus has not been an obstacle for our entire team of technicians, sales, finance, marketing, IT... to continue working normally from home.

The circumstances do not allow the visit to the works, but the information through different channels like webs, mobiles, virtual videos... is an enormous window from which to access all the details of the promotions. A key piece in this information transmission gear is the sales team that works at full capacity with direct attention to customers and potential buyers. This department meets twice a day by videoconference and is in constant contact with the customers, while our IT colleagues tune-up servers, optimize tools and equipment and analyze the valuable information that comes to us from the Big Data. And what can we say about our technical team, who work almost without rest on new organizational planning to recover the hours lost in the construction and to try that the dates of delivery foreseen of the houses suffer the minimum possible, without forgetting the projects of reforms in progress. We continue to process licenses and manage loans and guarantees for clients. And from the Administration, we are taking great care to continue to quickly attend to payments to contractors and other suppliers. We have put our teleworking system to the test and have far exceeded expectations.

A new reality, new consumption habits

We are seeing an increase in connectivity across all media and channels (over 70% in overall Internet usage). We are now reading more news than before, especially in the early hours of the day (up 66%), not to mention smartphone usage (up 80% for the younger generation), with WhatsApp usage up 76% in the last few weeks in Spain alone. And almost half of the population admits to spending more hours on social networks. These new consumer habits are generating a host of new and creative business opportunities.

In fact, according to eMarketer data, global advertising investment is expected to grow this year to $691 billion, only slightly below initial estimates of $712 billion. A difference of $20 billion that could easily be balanced out depending on the evolution of events.

Expand views, see advantages

This crisis that we have all had to live through has forced us to be more hyper-connected than ever, which is an advantage for those who want to buy a home. From the sofa at home, you can virtually visit the house, look for information on its location, make a mortgage simulator with different banks, sign contracts through digital signature, among other procedures.

New technologies are an effective tool for the real estate sector to keep its pulse, meet customer demands and make its offer more visible using all the instruments of the information society, which are not few. Let's take advantage of them!
