We live in an era where technology has brought people across the globe closer. Social media has played a pivotal role in exchange of ideas, opinions and conversations. As we see that employers are increasingly getting interest in the social profiles of prospective candidates and key decisions like whether you hire someone or want to do business with someone or not is also kinda considered after we take a look at their social media profiles. When I say this, I don't mean that social media profile is the only deciding factor what I mean to say is - it is one of the deciding factor
We all like to express our opinions about the blog, article or news published on social media and sometimes we downgrade the author/writer or post harsh comments because we disagree with what's written. When you agree or disagree with something it is your personal opinion, don't impose your thinking on others saying they are wrong and what you think is right. Expressing your opinion is a skill and the following should be considered while writing your opinion. This skill will help you in your personal life when you are talking to your family member on their choices and as well as at work when you have to express your opinion in meetings.
- Before you begin to write the comment read the original post once again and try to understand the intent behind the writing
- Once you identify the author's intent appreciate them for taking out time to publish the post (applicable only if it meets moral and ethical standards)
- Express your opinions saying ''This is what I think....'' this gives a chance to the other person to express their view on the topic and also it won't look as if you are trying to suppress his/her ideas
- Explain why you think it to be different, try to quote specific examples.
- Finally, say thanks to your reader and leave the conversation open for further comments
When you follow these steps you are expressing your opinion without being rude and the person who is reading your comment will have a positive opinion of you.
Until I write my next blog... stay positive and stay focused. Looking forward to your comments

8 年It's impossible to not have opinions - we all do, that's what thinking is all about. But we choose whether we are bound by our opinions, whether we let them form a prison for our mind or merely deline our current horizon. Opinions are subjective and while everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we should always be ready to dismiss our own opinions as we learn and mature. Only then can we grow intellectually. Expressing our opinions is good, not to "impose" them, but to have them challenged and possibly adjusted.
