Today marks the beginning of our Mental Health Awareness Month Series, "Operations for Overall Well-Being." As leaders, it is essential to prioritize self-care to positively influence those around us by embodying the behaviors we wish to see in them.
Throughout this series, we will explore the following four categories:
Our aim is to achieve harmony across all these areas. During this month dedicated to mental health, let's remember that everyone has mental health, which doesn't necessarily equate to having a mental illness. Additionally, your psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being are all integral components of your overall mental health.
We will begin with Physical Health.?
* Nutrition strategies: Consider incorporating more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins into your daily meals to fuel your body with essential nutrients and promote overall health.
* Exercise routines: Try to engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day, whether it's a brisk walk, a workout session, or a yoga practice, to boost your energy levels and improve your physical well-being.
* Sleep hygiene: Create a calming bedtime routine by turning off electronic devices an hour before bed, dimming the lights, and practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or gentle stretching to improve the quality of your sleep.
* Stress management: Dedicate time each day to unwind and distress through activities like meditation, reading a book, taking a warm bath, or practicing mindfulness to reduce stress levels and promote mental clarity.
* Self-care practices: Prioritize self-care by scheduling time for activities that bring you joy and relaxation, whether it's indulging in a hobby, spending time in nature, or pampering yourself with a spa day to nurture your emotional well-being.

This is a part of the 50% of your time that should be reserved for yourself, as you are the driving force behind all your other activities and responsibilities.
