Operations Manager – Hitchin

We are hiring for an experienced Operations Manager for a growing medium client based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire

The client

A FMCG organisation who are growing and wish to employ an experienced Operations Manager who has solid experience of working within a FMCG, Food, Manufacturing, logistics environment.

The Operations Manager will have the following experience and background. 

A mix of working within mid-sized and corporate company background

You will need experience of 

• Sales and Operational Planning
• E-commerce business knowledge 
• Warehousing and Logistics experience
• Knowledge of using and working with Amazon 1PL 
• FMCG 
• Been as user of, and ideally have implemented Oracle Netsuite or Microsoft Dynamics AX  
• Raw Materials experience
• Food Manufacturing exp 
• Contract Management experience

Scale the Operations function 

• Create and deliver a roadmap for Operational change. 
• Build a function fit for our future growth/plans 
• Lead and manage the operational change programme 

Improve our production and manage the housekeeping  

• Review, improve and scale our current manufacturing operations 
• Identify and improve our product demand plans and priorities  
• Challenge suppliers to improve our capacity, production, and ensure resilience, CSR or other operational concerns  
• Establish the KPIs and critical measures of supply chain capability and performance  
• Scale our current core activities to convert raw materials through to finished products  
• Managing legal, regulatory & CSR risks  
• Improving and managing the RFP process  
• Manage the outsourcing of the B2B warehouse function  
• Lead the continuous improvements of D2C warehousing and dispatch capabilities and capacities.  
• Manage our site facilities 
• Be responsible for site(s) Health & Safety  

 Key Skills and Experience  

The successful candidate will have:  

• Proven P&L understanding and responsibility in a business of similar size and complexity (￡10-30m) 
• Track record of scaling a complex operations function 
• Proven experience of complex supply chains including sourcing from global and local suppliers, production planning and packing schedules  
• Experience within a regulated environment e.g. pharmaceutical, health or food 
• Strong understanding and experience of managing international and multi-site manufacturing operation & complex international supply chains    
• Have a financial understanding of the impact of the supply chain on the businesses profit and loss accounts  
• Demonstrable experience and a high level of competence in forecasting and demand planning processes  
• Strong Excel and numerical skills  

The salary is

￡100,000 to ￡120,000 negotiable
