Road tunnels are familiar terrain for fire services on which they can operate autonomously. The situation is fundamentally different in railway tunnels. The didactics and development team of the International Fire Academy experienced how great and significant the differences were when they worked out the Firefighting Procedure for fire incidents in railway tunnels.
