Operation Zeroes (pressure injuries) to Heroes

This is a Patient Safety Solutions “shout out” to the 2021 3M Skin Safety Award winner team, Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, TX.?Their WOC team leader was Melayne Martin, BSN, RN, CWOCN, who successfully provided leadership to the hospital's award-winning team project known as: Operation Zeroes for Heroes.

Melayne gives an overview of the project, shares the practice changes, as well as the sustainable outcomes demonstrated since 2011. She offers a “how to” take an inter-professional approach to preventing skin injury, including pressure injuries during inpatient hospitalization.?

Melayne begins her presentation at minute marker 45:48. I encourage all who are interested to view this presentation with an award-winning explanation of how this team readjusted processes to achieve phenomenal patient safety outcomes in skin injury prevention, which includes pressure injury prevention.

Kudos to Melayne and the entire Operation Zeroes to Heroes team at Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas, TX.??The 3M Skin Safety Award was greatly deserved – please keep sharing best practice in patient safety with your LinkedIn audience.
