Operating on the wrong arm
We have all heard stories of surgeons making major mistakes and we gasp at their stupidity.
My wife is due for a minor surgery and the doctor asked her to take a scan. On seeing the scan, he wasn't satisfied and asked her to take another one to get a better picture. It was an added burden but he wanted to be sure before operating instead of beginning the surgery and then figuring out.
Makes perfect sense.
Now imagine this scenario:
The surgeon only gives a vague of the surgery without explaining much. He asks for a test, doesn't say what it indicates. 12 hours before the surgery, he asks for multiple tests, goes into a frenzy and generally make life tough. Worse yet, he goes ahead with the surgery and messes it up.
Would you take it lying down?
Heck, you would sue for malpractice. You will write to the authorities and do everything in your power to take the doctor to task.
How dare he get into a procedure without any clarity? It's a joke!
But there is a bigger joke - that's how most of us work.
