OpenProject's highlights 2022

Dear OpenProject Community,

2022 draws to an end. A year that brought many new features to the OpenProject application as well as great changes to the way we work at OpenProject. We are proud to share some of our?2022 highlights?with you.

OpenProject stands for data security and privacy, and we believe in digital sovereignty and software freedom. That is why we joined the development of the digitally?Sovereign Workplace?for the public administration in Germany. 2022 was only the kick-off and we are looking forward to the developments in 2023 that we will keep you updated about.

We want to offer the most secure way to combine project and file management. Hence, we intensified our?collaboration with Nextcloud?this year and we are proud of our?achievements. OpenProject is now integrated in the Nextcloud dashboard and search, and in OpenProject you can now?link and display Nextcloud files and folders. Consequently, the productivity of users of both platforms increases significantly. No more endless searching for files. Be on the lookout,?there are more integrations planned for 2023.

The team also developed many new features in 2022 and increased and improved OpenProject's scope hugely. I want to mention?the?team planner,?work week?and?date alerts?as highlights that simplify?scheduling and enhance?managing timelines, resulting in more?accurate project schedules.

The free OpenProject Community edition is very dear to our hearts.?Hence, we are?happy to give two important features back that were previously part of our paid?Enterprise editions.?Agile basic boards?and?2-factor authentication?are now available for the users of our Community edition.

As we have a global customer base, we drive?the translation of OpenProject and all related material into our users' mother tongues. Our website is now?available in French?and we translated the?user guide?and?getting started guide?into?German.

Above all, the team is what makes OpenProject so special. Our team has grown by 9 members?over the year and strengthened?the technical support as well as the development and marketing team. And we welcomed our first full-time QA responsible, professionalizing and automating all testing.

Last but not least we want to thank our community. This year we have again launched a lot of new features, specified, designed, developed, tested, documented, improved code, fixed bugs, implemented UX and UI improvements. This wouldn't have been possible without our amazing community. Thank you for all your support and involvement, we really appreciate it.
