Openness in Leadership

Openness in Leadership

YOU WILL INFLUENCE OTHERS MOST EFFECTIVELY IF YOU INFLUENCE YOURSELF FIRST.

It is important for you to know how to influence the people around you. By influence, I don’t mean in a negative way - like inducing someone to do something they would not normally do. I mean that you want to influence others by encouraging, supporting, mentoring, and helping them. None of the above will be impactful unless you influence yourself first.

To be able to influence those around you, it helps to know how they think, how they act, and what makes them tick. In other words, understanding what they can relate to - i.e family, sports, money - any topic in their lives so that you can speak to them in their own language.

Always remember: The great leader is the leader with the best delivery, and those around him understand what the direction is and how they can benefit from that direction with passion, energy, trust, and loyalty.
