Opening Up

Hi Everyone,
After almost 250 days of being locked down in Melbourne, it is great to see the first meaningful signs that we will be able to re-open our country and start to connect again with each other and the rest of the world.?Vaccination rates are key to being able to re-open safely, which is why we launched a national ‘Vax Return’ campaign last Friday in partnership with the rest of the Big 4 to highlight the importance of the national vaccination program to the economic and social health of our nation.
Keeping us safe
As our country re-opens, one of our highest priorities is to provide a safe working environment for our people.?In considering this, we have decided that access to all our Deloitte offices and Deloitte events from 1 January, 2022 will be dependent on being fully vaccinated.?Clearly every state and territory is in a different situation with different health conditions and directives, so look out for an email from your Office Managing Partner tomorrow for more specific guidance and directions.
We believe this is an appropriate position to take in order to protect the health and safety of our people, clients and third-party providers while COVID-19 remains a material health risk across our nation.?It is important to note that our commitment to inclusion remains and vaccination is not a condition of employment at Deloitte.?We will actively support those unable or unwilling to be vaccinated to virtually connect to their clients and teams, as many of us have indeed been doing for some time.

Vaccine Access
It is important we set a positive example at Deloitte and we are very pleased with the strong response to our recent survey with 96% of this team committed to being fully vaccinated.?To support this outcome, we are increasingly confident that we will be able to provide access to available vaccines in each of our offices for anyone that needs this (including all Deloitte employees and family members) by approximately the end of October.?
I am really proud of the way we have all worked with our clients and each other in 2021 and we are performing very strongly as a result.?We now want to play our part in the safe and effective re-opening of our country and this requires us to take a clear position on the importance of vaccination and ensuring a safe working environment for all.
A big thanks for everything you are doing and I very much look forward to (safely) connecting in person in the not too distant future.??

3 年Being fully vaccinated is essentially a condition of employment. There are many conditions attached to any employment agreement (eg to cannot come to work drunk) so this is just about another necessary condition.

3 年Adam Powick well said. The bounce back is going to be critical - we have to make sure we have a safe environment for all of our teams (clients and staff) and a big supporter of this approach.
