Opening Plenary: BUILDING THE PIPELINE - Blueprints & Tools for Efficiency & Cost Effectiveness.

Investors in any investment discipline spend a great deal of time and resources sourcing investment opportunities, or ‘building a pipeline’, but in impact investing, travel, distance and limited data further increase the costs and time spent evaluating a prospective business. However, impact investors need to concern themselves with more than efficiency and costs: they must also take into account evolving social impact and ESG principles as well as the impact of deal sourcing costs on financial returns.

This session will explore how these considerations inform the unique approach of individual investors in building their pipelines. Rather than advocating for any one approach, the goal of this session is to share ideas for investors to take into consideration as they adapt their own approaches.
