Opening the door to Queen Alia Military Hospital’s new, modern medical facilities
CCG provided renovation, redesign and construction supervision services for the Queen Alia Military Hospital in Amman, Jordan, between 2014 and 2016.
The hospital was inaugurated and reopened in 2019 after this project by His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces Arab Army, who opened the door to Queen Alia Military Hospital’s new, modern medical facilities.
Queen Alia Military Hospital was first opened in 1987, so this project was said to have given the hospital a “facelift” by modernizing and expanding its facilities. 168 new hospital beds were introduced, taking the capacity up from 237 to 405, as well as introducing new sections to the hospital.
The x-ray section was expanded to include magnetic resonance imaging, axial tomography, fluoroscopy and mammograms.
The newly renovated sections include surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, and the labs, with the introduction of a new blood bank and labs for stem cells, chemistry and microbiology.
The project included the redesign and installation of all of the main building electrical, mechanical and engineering systems including vacuums, medical gases, BMS and IT, as well as the kitchen and laundry equipment, interior works and signage.
The key goal was to improve the services provided by the hospital, but importantly to ease pressure on other military facilities in Amman and Zarqa and to ease the congestion at the King Hussein Medical Center.
