Opening Day
Opening day. It’s full of possibilities. Every team, on every level, sees the early spring as a time when bats, gloves and players, of course, work their magic, giving fans hope that the season ahead is something special. Charles Steinberg, the new president of the Pawtucket Red Sox, possibly feels that more than most fans. He’s spearheading the efforts to rebuild trust within a community that had only a year ago felt the team’s new ownership would abandon the city they had called home for decades. Dr. Steinberg joins me tomorrow on WBLQ (1530 AM) at 9 a.m. Also joining us later in the program is Bob Billington, executive director of the Blackstone Valley Tourism Authority, who will help us understand the process that resulted in such a public outcry over the proposed new logo and slogan for Rhode Island tourism. If you are unable to listen to the broadcast, you can catch it streaming on WBLQ’s website, or listen to the podcast later on WBLQ’s website or mine, www.prosnitzcom.com.
