Opening and closing...

I learned to "open" deals by meeting as many guests, clients and people in general, then speaking sincerely, listening and watching carefully what they said, how they said it and how they walked, stood and their all around manner. Treating them as my "guests, friends and family" I earned trust and then I learned to "close" the deals. My dealings were not about in and out, not about the one deal but the many to come, the "return" guests and clients. I learned to build relationships for a life time. I have done the "bathroom close", the "swimming pool close", the bar and golf course close...The biggest deals are made away from the floor or office. My dealings have been with Presidents, Governors, Senators, Mayors, Clergy...people from all walks of life. In the beginning and the end they are all the same, with the basic need for "respect and honesty". The smartest and most successful CEO's and managers know this. Lately I am dealing with superiors who do not get it. It is time for change...I am seeking to "deal" under a new leader and a product that is fresh, clean and honest.
