OpenAI Gives ChatGPT Access to the Entire Internet

OpenAI Gives ChatGPT access to the entire internet. 亚马逊 teams up with Anthropic to join the generative AI race. Run 微软 ’s Phi 1.5 on an 苹果 Silicon chip with Lit-GPT. Let’s dive in!

ML Engineering Highlights:

  • OpenAI Gives ChatGPT Access to the Entire Internet: OpenAI's ChatGPT now has the ability to browse the internet and provide users with current and authoritative information, thanks to an integration with Microsoft's Bing search engine. This feature is available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers and ChatGPT Enterprise users. OpenAI had previously disabled the browsing feature after users found a way to bypass paywalls, but it has now been reintroduced with measures to respect website owners' content exclusions.

  • Amazon bets $4 billion on Anthropic’s Claude: Amazon has announced a $4 billion investment in Anthropic, the company behind chatbot Claude, as part of a partnership agreement. The move marks Amazon's first major connection to a leading chatbot and demonstrates its commitment to diversifying its efforts in large language models (LLMs) and ensuring access to talent and technology.
  • Confluent wants to deliver fresh, real-time data streams for AI: Data streaming company Confluent has launched its "Data Streaming for AI" initiative, which aims to provide native integrations with leading players in the AI and vector database space. The goal is to enable Confluent's customers to access real-time contextual data from across their businesses, essential for use cases such as fraud detection. The first partners to join the initiative include MongoDB , Pinecone , and Weaviate .

ML Engineering Highlights:

  • Microsoft’s Phi 1.5 added to Lit-GPT: The language model phi-1.5 is an LLM with just 1.3 billion parameters. It’s smaller parameter size makes it perfect for familiarizing with how to finetune LLMs on consumer GPUs, such as NVIDIA T4s and M-series MacBooks. Check it out in Lit-GPT!
