Since November of last year, when OpenAI unveiled its AI chatbot, ChatGPT, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of generative AI chatbots on the market. By introducing a generative AI chatbot named Bard, Google, one of the big digital giants, has also dipped its toes in this market. Therefore, OpenAI, Microsoft's ChatGPT, and Google's Bard are currently the two leading contenders in the market. The chatbots are being updated by both creators to have higher capabilities.
While Microsoft has announced that it is integrating Chat GPT with its MS Office Suite and Bing Search, Google’s Bard is still in initial stages.
Chat GPT vs Bard?
When it comes to the user interface, Chat GPT's appears more cluttered than Bard's despite offering a lot more info. When it comes to the user interface, Chat GPT's appears more cluttered than Bard's despite offering a lot more info. The main limitation we saw with Chat GPT was that the entire AI model had only been trained on datasets through September 2021. Therefore, if you use the AI chatbot, it's likely that you would receive out-of-date and erroneous responses. Here, Bard clearly has the advantage.
?For example, when asked if?Pathaan?is worth watching, Bard responded with three sets of detailed response whereas ChatGPT said that it is “an upcoming Indian film”. ?
Regarding speed, we attempted to issue a difficult instruction to each AI chatbot using the same internet connection and computer. In less than 8 seconds, Google’s Bard presented three drafts while ChatGPT gave better and detailed response in real-time. So, in terms of response time, ChatGPT takes the cake.
Different language models were used in the training of ChatGPT and Bard. Bard, which is based on LaMDA and is intended to conduct more natural conversations, can output a wide range of text for many uses. OpenAI's ChatGPT can't.

When asked ‘How are you’, Bard responded with ‘I am doing well, thank you for asking. I am excited to be able to help people with their tasks and to learn more about the world. How are you doing today?’ This looks like you are having a conversation with a human being
ChatGPT, on the other hand, responded to the same prompt with: “As an AI language model, I don’t have feelings, I am functioning well and ready to assist you with any questions or tasks you may have. How can I help you today?”
While both the AI chatbots keep the conversations going, they both have very different approach.
?Conclusion
In comparison to ChatGPT, Google's Bard offers a much more recently updated knowledge base. ChatGPT has only been trained by OpenAI through out the year of 2022. However, both chatbots still have a lot more advancements in store for the future, so we might witness even more intense rivalry between them.
