Open Stack Summit, Summary
Hackathon
What the journey! It was one of most exciting summits, I have ever had attended. It started within a Hackathon and after we made it as one of the First Teams. Ronan-Alexandre Cherrueau will publish a Blog post soon about our achievements during the Open Stack Hackathon. But I am still appreciating all of my Team Mates, Specially Zsolt Magyari, Adrien Lebre, and Javier Rojas Balderrama.
Summit
Actually, I missed first-day Keynotes because I had to finish my tasks But let's check most sophisticated headlines during the Summit. First of all, The Project Cyborg was one of the bold topics during Summit. In summary, Cyborg will solve a lot of AI and Machine Learning project soon because it will accelerate the ultracomplex algorithms using different Technologies such as GPU, FPGA, ASIC, NP, SoCs, NVMe/NOF SSDs, ODP, DPDK/SPDK and so on.
The First demo that I have participated on called The AI Thunderdome, and the speaker explained how Sahara would help AI acceleration and the combination of open stack components like Swift and Spark will help to accelerate Big-Data and so on.
After that, I went to another workshop which titled: Using Encryption to secure your Cloud. In this workshop, we have had hands-on experience using Barbican and I may use it in my Projects to store keys and secure each component of the Open Stack.
The next session titled: How to double* the performance of our vSwitch-based deployments. In this session: within the time Nove scaled itself and in Rocky version, it is possible to schedule instance creation in the manner that will deliver maximum possible performance from our v-Switch network.
Next presentation have I had commissioned called: OK Google, Create me a VM, but opposite of the title it had nothing with google assistance to do. The idea was how automated cloud environments are growing and how we can scale our Projects using them. The speaker shared a lot of his experiences and me myself personally happy with his Speech.
Next Step was the Charm Project On-Boarding. It was the first Time that I have ever heard about Charm and it was really exciting. Therefore I added myself to the mailing list, as well as gathering enough Information of how and where I can start to contribute Charm. I am really looking at this project optimistic and I highly recommend if you are interested to contribute may join the mailing list.
To be honest I get confused with the new project of OpenStack. Some projects are highly new and delegate for deprecated one. For example, Octavia is a better replacement than Neutron? but they are totally different and Octavia have abilities for LB feature and a lot of another totality. So I strongly confused within this On-Boarding session. And I realized is time to renew my knowledge.
After that, I went to Market Place and get involved with companies' Booth. I took some stickers for my Laptop. I explianed on Cisco's Booth about the passion of my Networking certification. I met Eric from Intel. He had 5 demos using Kata-Container but he introduced an exciting Linux Distro called, Clear Linux and features that it has :)
And it was the Day One of the Summit, But let's get jump into day two immediately.
On day two, I have woke up really early in the morning and more or less I was one of the first who arrived at the summit in the Morning. After Checking, Answering, Controlling all E-Mails and daily notifications I just put my laptop into my Backpack and wend to the keynotes session. I guess it would be a matter of Replication if I write down what have been spoken about during keynotes because you may check the Videos if you are interested to watch them. After keynotes, I just participated on a Boot-Camp course for preparation for Open Stack certification sponsored by OpenSUSE. I have also had some Pictures which still can share them.

6 年Thanks for being a part of the Hackathon. What I can say for now: we would doit again. And what I observed in Berlin: So many selfies with Mark Shuttleworth! Just a fun fact to mention :)

6 年I am also happy that I met you guys on Booth :-)
We were happy that you have visited the Oerlikon booth, too. If you need a sticker, let us know :-)
