Open Spaces: Real+ In Our Heads
We Americans spend an average of 90% of our lives indoors. We often get caught swirling in?thoughts inside our own heads, too, believing that they are all true.? One of the most powerful axioms I remind myself of: Don't believe everything you think When it?comes to thoughts of our own self-care, there is?a wide-open space between complacency and trying to beat ourselves into change.?
Neither of these end points offers us much value.? The?space between complacency and beatings is worthy of a visit. This?space is where mindful choices?and awareness dwell. It's where we can learn to show up for ourselves and our wellness every day. It's where solid, supportive health habits live.? ?
Where are you on this?continuum of thoughts and behaviors for?your self-care?
TRUTHS
Everyone is gifted with one body to last their?lifetime?
Everyone?deserves to dwell in a body in which they?feel comfortable and proud *
Everyone?deserves a life of few physical limitations.?
The catch?
We have to invest to facilitate these realities. We have to push back on the environmental forces that invite us to be unhealthy every day.? We have to be proactive and intentional to avoid (or minimize risks for) catastrophic wakeup calls about our health. Only about 15% of illness are genetic;?The rest are lifestyle based
Your investment?
Your call to action is?in your daily choices and?behaviors.? Your behaviors are rooted in mindset and habits.?
Self-reflection question:
Are you being complacent?
