Open Space returns in the autumn to debate healthcare issues of the day

An Open Space event for Health Communicators and Managers

Following on from the success of our 2023 Open Space event for healthcare communications and marketing professionals, we are delighted to be hosting another session at our offices this October 2024.

The main subject under discussion this time will be reflecting on how health and social care policy will be changing in the future under the new Labour Government, following 14 years of Conservative rule.

• What direction will the new Health and Social Care Secretary be taking the country in?
• What will be Labour’s approach to resolving the critical issues of industrial action, recruitment challenges, lengthy delays for treatment and the crisis of trolleys and ambulances queuing up outside A&Es?
• What will Labour propose for the social care sector and how will integration proceed with the NHS?
• Will the Government retain the existing structures for delivering health and care or will there be another organisational re-shuffle around the corner?
• What does it all mean for your role?
• How can communicators best respond to the policy shift and deliver optimum communications and marketing to patients, public, staff and other stakeholders?

While the impact of political change in Whitehall will be central to our discussion, there will be room of course for comms and marketing professionals to bring in any other issues of the day that they are seeking input from the ‘hive mind’. Challenges approached in isolation can be tricky and troublesome, but a concerted group effort can sometimes unlock the doors and provide unexpected ‘left-field’ solutions. That is the beauty of an Open Space approach.

Our Open Space event, staged jointly by Touch Design and Volute, will take place at our joint studio at?1 Kayes Walk, Nottingham, NG1 1PY,?Thursday 17th October 2023, 1pm - 5.30pm. The event is targeted at health communicators and managers to pose questions such as these and others, and for us all to work together to find answers.

Open Space events have been used successfully all over the world to enable a self-organising group to use its collective imagination to deal with complex issues by sharing ideas and pooling knowledge in an incredibly short space of time. Those who attend will set the agenda and, by the end, every area of interest will have been raised and all issues will have received discussion to the extent desired - and you will have taken part in making it happen.
