Open Source Interactive Visualization
Data visualization may be the end of a data product but is the most important in the data product life cycle. All the efforts involved in the research is only paid off by a great visualization.
Great visualization comes with Aha factor. Thanks to plot.ly for giving a great resource to data lovers. Plotly has proved to be aha open source visualization tool in R, Python, Matlab, Excel, and others.
The company started in 2012 by Alex Johnson, Jorge Barcroft, Potato Reese. The office is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec.
Plotly can easily integrate with shiny in R, jupyter notebook in python. A shiny app in R becomes more intuitive and beautiful with plotly visualization.
A shiny app using plotly for the visualization. This is a demo app using the diamond data set.
Plotly has great integration with shiny. In the ui.R use plotlyOutput() and in server.R use renderPlotly()
The plot can be plotted using either ggplot() using ggplot2 library in R or directly using plot_ly() from plotly library.
In the demo app , ggplot2 library has been used for the plot, further it has been converted to plotly graph using ggplotly()
Visit ploty in R for more graph examples.
