Open Source: Business Growth

Open Source: Business Growth

With my recent move to a new role in PruTech and launching a product of my own, the next phase of my career is focused solely on business and revenue growth. From my standpoint, these seemingly two separate efforts are very much aligned and have the same goal - generate value through the business of technology.

The responsibility of business growth is not entirely new to me but this time, it is wider and deeper in scope. PruTech Solution's 25-year legacy is built on many large and successful IT project executions for clients in both the public and private sectors. In any organization, carving out a new practice, new channel, or new department for growth is a bumpy ride, at least initially. Just like any startup, the early days are filled with ideas, plans, energy, and also some experimentation, failures, tweaking, and pivoting. The race to break even and profitability is ON.

In a company with established clientele and past performance, it may seem relatively easier but I think the pressure is still the same. So..I hope to share more on LinkedIn about what is working and what is not, thereby "open-sourcing" my efforts to grow the business. Selfishly, I hope to learn from smart folks in my network via your comments, DMs, emails, and calls.

In addition to having a very smart team, I feel another big advantage is that PruTech already has several products/solutions and most of them are in use by large enterprises. Then some are relatively new and show a lot of potential. I would like to introduce those products at reasonable depth in the next few posts, for sharing as part of documenting our efforts but also for marketing reasons.

Here is a quick list, for now -

  1. Secure Database Gateway - provides fine-grain access-policy-based encryption of data-in-use allowing existing Enteprise apps to meet compliance and security requirements with minimal changes to the apps themself. Here is a recent webinar I did with Progress.
  2. Enterprise Security Sentinel - An automated solution that runs tests to measure, analyze, and report the efficacy of security countermeasures in an enterprise environment using synthetic data.
  3. Campus Safety Sentinel - It is probably the most complete campus security solution that includes Video Surveillance and Video Analytics, a Public Address System, RFID Integration, Environmental Sensors, Smart Lighting and Energy Monitoring, Fire Detection Devices, Boom Barriers Monitoring and Control, Alerts, Notifications, and Standard Operating Procedure and more.
  4. Cloud Cost Governance and Optimization solution - Works for AWS right now. Azure will be added soon.
  5. SSL Cert Lifecycle Automation - 100% from identification of the expiring cert, opening a service ticket, issuance of a new cert, installation, updating CMDB, and closure of the ticket. No need to worry about expired SSL certs or spending even a minute working on it.
  6. Last but not least, Safal, a Low-Code/No-Code platform with Gen AI capabilities to centralize, automate, and digitize business processes in enterprises. Full disclosure - this product is created by my entity and approved to be offered as a solution by PruTech, in partnership.

Each of these solutions offers significant value to the client organizations so I am truly excited about the possibilities. More to come on each of these. Our immediate efforts are focused on marketing pitch, GTM approach, collaterals, developing channels, etc.

Hope to share more in the coming days/weeks. Stay tuned.
