Open some relationships today....
....excerpt from a message sent in 2020 to the company
"Don't celebrate closing a sale. Celebrate opening a relationship" - Patricia Fripp
I read the quote above yesterday and I have been thinking about it ever since. What we say everyday "what are you going to close?" really should be "what relationship are we going to open today?".
I bet you can think of a hospital, one that is your favorite where everything clicks, you and the clinical staff are fully aligned, this is the first place you go when you have new technology. This didn't happen overnight or because you "closed them", this happened because you nurtured and developed that relationship. You gained their trust and connected dots over time with that hospital & their team. You took extra steps that others would not and each time you placed a dot down they were able to connect it. You opened and developed relationships.
We have a unique mission here at Potrero, to provide our life saving Accuryn technology to hospitals during a global pandemic. We have to connect dots faster and build trust earlier than ever before. Team, you are doing it. You are helping the hospitals connect the dots, you are building layers of trust quickly with the great professionalism.
LinkedIn and other social media are wonderful tools for the passive observers who are silently connecting the dots on their own. It is amazing to watch, sometimes doctors and nurses find us because they saw a post or several posts, be sure to use this tool to its greatest potential. Activate your network as Kurt mentioned last week and let others help you, you will be amazed at how many people clear paths when you are doing work that helps humanity. When you get momentum like we have now it is unstoppable - don't forget that as you go through your day today!
This is a challenge, this is the game at its highest stakes, and this is where it is a lot of fun when you win!
The greater the adversity we overcome, the stronger we are forged for tomorrow's challenge.
This is your chapter of the Potrero story - your brick in the ALWAYS FORWARD foundation.
Have a great day today team!
ALWAYS FORWARD!!!
Joe

4 年Thanks for this post/leadership Joe Urban! I’m just coming across this incredible series and concept....For the technologies that provide patient value and improve healthcare it’s a huge honor and much more significant responsibility (at times I feel almost a crushing reaponsibility) in the 2020/2021 era that we have to connect the dots, build the relationships/trust and communicate effectively and efficiently! Relationships are everything and serving/inspiring others.

4 å¹´Love, love, love this message Joe Urban. It is the root of our business and so timely. In a meeting this morning our team discussed that in each search we take on, the result is only one individual is placed, but dozens, or hundreds, can be touched in process. How will they remember you? This initial touch point the start of a relationship for years to come, and if we treat it as that, will we rise above others that are thinking merely transactional. Thanks for your ongoing fantastic reminders and positivity!

4 年Joe, I love the quote by Patricia! “Opening a relationship vs closing a sale†It’s a simple change in mindset that makes all the difference. Thinking about others, caring about their needs, offering help, advice & starting a relationship is the way to build a brand that pays dividends for years to come.
