An open public letter to Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami

Dear Sir,

?

I am writing this open public letter to you regarding your recent "Face To Face" interview with Khaled Muhiuddin on Thikana. I was stunned by what I heard from you. I understand your background was with JSD, but now you are leading a so-called Islamic party. Your words matter. You are not a common ordinary human being from on the street.

Please keep in mind that millions of people listen to you and consider your words as a statement from "Jamaat-e-Islami." However, I am not a member of "Jamaat-e-Islami," and I have never been. I spoke with you a couple of times in Mirabazar, Sylhet.

I understand that in Bangladesh, the political landscape changed suddenly because students chanted the slogan "tumi Razakar ami Razakar." This slogan caused the children and grandchildren of the "Razakars" to feel thrilled and overwhelmed. They got involved in the student movement, and this led to a significant change. If General Waker-uz-Zaman had not made a wise decision at that time, the country would have experienced bloodshed beyond imagination.

I am familiar with the Razakars because my father was the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the East Pakistan Peace Committee. This position allowed me to have friendly discussions with Professor Ghulam Azam in 2001. Professor Ghulam Azam was aware that all my political predictions had come true, line by line.

“Razakars" were not typical Bengalis; they were from traditional Muslim families known as "Muslim Bhadra Samaj." They were fearless. General Sam Manekshaw publicly and privately admitted that "Razakars" were the best fighters the Indian Army ever faced. "Razakars" were not as Bengalis believed and propagated; they were vastly different from what Bengalis were saying about them. In 1972, most of them joined the Bangladesh Military, BDR, and Police.

Bangladeshi Bengali father Mujib threatened Ms. Indira Gandhi that if he signed the "Mitro" (Confederation) treaty, the "Razakars" would start fighting, leading to more bloodshed and instability in the country that specific reason Ms. Indira Gandhi signed 25 years “Friendship” treaty instead.

The main issue that led me to write this letter in that “Show” you said, “We Muslims Are United based on Allah, Prophet and Quran.” You're mistaken.

First, I would like to remind you that after the East Pakistan Estate Acquisition Act of 1950, over 15 thousand Hindu Raja and Zamindars left East Pakistan, but their over 50 million illiterate, ignorant, uneducated and alarming poor Proza and Lathial Bahini remained in East Pakistan, who do not understand politics, economy, society, culture, customs, tradition, social norms, or military science and are totally religious ignorant. They know only “Mujib” or “Zia” that basically it.

It is the most difficult task to teach them anything related to Islamic subjects due to their arrogance that they know all. Top of that, they are educated with the Hindu intellectuals' literature, which makes it extremely difficult for them to understand anything from the Muslim side of the story.

For your information, during the British Colonial Period in the British Raj, the East India Company and the British Governmental spy agencies created numerous religious groups and taught Muslims to worship graves by funding them to build “Mazar.” The British objective was to take Muslim minds out of “Jihad” and think of Muslim unity so that they would face the least resistance in the subcontinent.

Karl Marx said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses," The British spy agencies took the “Religion is the opiate of the masses” quote seriously. There was substantial evidence that British spies lured poor people into food to take them to the Mazar and Mandir but not to the Masjid, which was why Muslim League members started feeding people in the Masjid to bring them to the Masjid and also innovated religious days to bring people in the Masjid and building Masjid near the Mazar to encourage Muslims to pray.

Between 1793 and 1858, Islamic education and visiting the Masjid were prohibited by the Hindu Rajas and Zamindars. The only exception was visiting the Mazar for Urus. There was a lot of competition among people to build Mazar and claim that they were the descendants of the Prophet and Pir because it was a profitable business during Urus, and it received full support from the British government, Hindu Rajas, and Zamindars.

We know for a fact that after the creation of Pakistan, the Muslim League completely failed to politically and structurally build Pakistan, similar to India or the USA. Shia and Sunni communities got into internal conflicts, each wanting to be in charge. Meanwhile, Indian intelligence incited regional nationalism within Pakistan. Congress leaders predicted that Pakistan would be dismembered within 25 years.

As you see, Muslims are in India today. Almost all of them got the Muslim name from the Muslim League Muslim’s Muslim named book, which was distributed for the 1931 India census and 1936–37 British India Provincial election voter list, which was strongly disputed by the Hindu upper caste who accused Muslim League of enlisting the Hindu lower caste “Dalit and Shudra.” They literally know nothing about Muslims and Islam except a name given to them by the Muslim League.

To the point, Muslims are united under the first pillar of Islam. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said, "Islam has been built on five [pillars]: testifying that there is nothing worthy of worship except Only One God (Allah) and that Muhammed is the messenger of Allah, performing the daily five times prayers, paying the zakat, making the pilgrimage to the House of Allah (Kaba), and fasting in the month of Ramadan."

The central tenet of Islam is the belief in one God, known as "Monotheistic Belief," which is expressed through the testimony of faith, or "Shahada." In the Quran, Allah instructs Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to first know and understand Him, saying, "So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah" (47:19). It is essential for individuals to have knowledge of Allah before professing belief in Him. Islam emphasizes the importance of a deep and certain faith in the Creator, rather than a blind belief, as this certainty helps prevent the sin of associating partners with Allah (Shirk).

Given the historical, political, religious, and economic factors, it would be a good idea to think about teaching Tauhid, the “central tenet of Islam.” Bengalis have made it clear that they want to identify as Bengalis, and Bangladesh belongs to the Bengali people. You cannot go against the will of the people, and you cannot impose Islamic monotheism on 170 million people. It would be best if you were realistic.

My last word, The Prophet (?) said, "Be patient till you face them and invite them to Islam and inform them of what Allah has enjoined upon them. By Allah! If a single person embraces Islam at your hands (i.e., through you), that will be better for you than the red camels.".
