OPEN POSITION: TOOL MAKER
Krengel Manufacturing is looking for an experienced Tool Maker who enjoys a hands-on experience and challenging work at an aluminum die-castings manufacturer. Our Tool Maker will make or improve different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and improvement of all tooling dies, jigs, fixtures, and fittings for press tools and CNC equipment. Supports new tooling for new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds. Works on many phases or sub-tasks of projects with moderate complexity. Meets production and customer requirements to support Krengel Manufacturing’s business objectives. Makes or improves different types of tools to enable the production processes to be as efficient as possible, including jigs, fixtures, clamps, or molds to obtain a more robust consistently produced part that meets the specification of the customer. Works well under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones, and/or on completion by Senior Management. Repairs and maintains press tools and die repairs. Conducts routine servicing and regrinding of tools. Attends breakdowns, identifies faults and problem solves at the press with minimal downtime to aid production. Evaluates each job and determines if it can be repaired in press or must be removed to Tool Room for essential maintenance and repair work. Estimates length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales. Identifies and escalates any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage. Reports breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management. Supports apprentices.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
● Capable of passing Krengel’s Tool & Die Test
● Enjoys working with hands
● Takes pride in work
● Manages time well
● Ability to work independently
● Fluent in trigonometry
● Ability to make a part from blue prints (drawings)
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
2+ years of experience is ideal for this position
Education: High School or Trade School
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Short Term Disability Insurance is available after one full year of employment with Krengel for non-workplace injury for loss of time paid at 20 hours up to 26 weeks.
