Open Ocean Robotics wins $100,000 in Spring Impact Investor Challenge

We are excited to have won the Spring Impact Investor Challenge and a $100,000 investment! The Challenge, run by Spring Activator, an impact focused accelerator that helps companies and investors change the world through entrepreneurship, was a 10-week program designed to help investors and companies better understand the process of investing in early stage purpose driven companies.

A highly competitive process, over 100 companies applied to enter the Challenge and after multiple pitches and selection rounds, 5 finalists were selected. We all worked together with the team of angel investors, mentors and Spring Activator for 10 weeks, attending weekly 3-hour sessions with renowned speakers and conducting detailed due diligence throughout the process. At the grand finale, the companies gave their final pitch and the investors voted that they wanted their investment to go into Open Ocean Robotics!

It’s an incredible honour, as each of the finalist companies are outstanding enterprises making a profound difference in the world through providing better access to healthcare, making the global fisheries industry more accountable, reducing the use of disposable plastics, and saving lives through safe surgical instrumentation. For us, the learning experience has also been profound, helping us navigate the due diligence process and benefit from the guidance, mentorship and network of this remarkable group of investors and Spring Activator.
