An Open (non-AI) Letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I was full of hope before 2023, you know. But then we were devastated by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Later in the year, North Africa suffered terrible earthquakes, too.

You have amazing little gifts. We love you for them. Can you bring more wisdom to our governments in 2024? Is it included in your services? I mean, thousands of years ago, Hammurabi, the wise and old King of Babylon, said, if a builder's home is destroyed because he did not build it firm enough, he shall restore it in his own expense. And if somebody dies, then the builder shall be killed.

Our modern laws are larger and smarter. But holds nobody accountable.

The law of retaliation does not sound Santa-like, either. What do you offer dear Santa, we need your help.

Terror and terrorism did not stop. People say one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. Does it have to be like that? Can you restore power of politics instead of politics of power?

Can you add perpetual ceasefire to our calendars dear Santa, instead of giving the rich perpetual calendar watches?

The price of inequality is getting heavier. Division leads to deprivation, which causes detoriation and degradation of values, and eventually dehumanization.

Can you help us restore equality among social classes, genders and nations?

I love technology, ever since my late father bought me a Commodore 64 in 1986. I love Zoom, remote work and the new AI tools. Can you help us build more construtive solutions instead of distruptive platforms?

Because everybody is entitled to a decent life, not to strive for the bare minimum.

Thank you dear Santa. I know your role is to entartain kids, bring us fun and joy before the new year with a festive season.

It's time to get out of your comfort zone. Aim higher, reach more.
