Do you feel like unlucky all the time, or sometime, or when one of known person doing better than you in life although you both started at same stage?
Do you feel someone is getting back to back opportunities and you are not?
Do you feel like I wish I could reset my life?
Do you have questions like?
God, Why me?
Why only I am not growing in life?
Why am I not able to find an opportunity I want to?
Then you must read this article till the end, what I am about to share through this article is my personal life experience of being lucky and being unlucky at times.
There were times when I used to feel unlucky of being in the college I went for engineering, being in the job I was, not getting good rank in AIEEE exams, and I was confused about and I was asking WHY THIS IS HAPPENING TO ME?
And no one had answer to this question, and life takes its own time to disclose the stuff.
My unlucky times:
I was an average student with good grip in mathematics only. I was never so serious about my studies and I used to study just to pass my exams not to come 1st in class. I was having fun at a water park just 2 days before my AIEEE exam with few of my friends and AIEEE result was shocking. 171161 was my national rank (see it was so shocking for me, I remember this rank till date).
I could not get admission in any nearby College in Delhi NCR, and I took admission in an engineering college in Haryana. Alone, far from family and friends for the first time in life, I left very unlucky. (This was year 2007)
Fast Forward 2011: Engineering completed with 74% marks and got placed in Indigo airlines and I refused the offer saying it is managerial work; I want to do technical work (ego of being an engineering degree holder was shouting inside and asked to refuse 28k monthly salary as a fresher)
So, now let me tell you in all these years I was never UNLUCKY, I was just an immature, stupid, irresponsible kid who did not know what to do. Who was just following what others were doing or asking him to do.
I did not get placed in a technical job after my college, but I did got a placement that was paying me well. I was not UNLUCKY, I was Egoistic and Overconfident of my degree and my father’s connections to get me another opportunity, but nothing worked and I landed in a 5k paying technical job.
I joined this job and again felt unlucky as all my school friends were in better paying jobs. Let’s figure out WAS I REALLY UNLUCKY AGAIN?
FAST FORWARD FEB, 2013: I received a call from a long lost friend (I was desperately looking for an opportunity to increase my income) to talk about an opportunity and got a chance to meet a successful entrepreneur, and in 15 minutes I decided to join hands with them and life took a new turn, and for some time I was again confused.
IS THIS WHAT I WANTED?, I Was missing my technical work badly (but I wanted to grow financially as well), and May,2013 something amazing happened (that mental change of 21st century) and I quit my job and came full time in business.
It’s been 5 years now life has changed,
From just being a technical engineer receiving 5000 salary and knew nothing about life to having customer base in 3 countries and 10 cities of India,
From a shy person to outgoing open networker having 3000 contacts in my phone from world across.
From working with laborers in mechanical industry to mentored by best of the rich people on the planet.
Today I am good with public speaking, have knowledge of several topics in deep, I don’t care of what people think and do what I love to do. I AM HAPPY and I FEEL I AM LUCKIEST GUY.
That impulsive decision of joining hands with my old friend and his associates was the result of all the UNLUCKYNESS that I felt in past 6 years before 2013. I did not want to lose the opportunity and said YES to it without understanding it in complete detail. I feel that was the LUCKIEST day of my life. I found my mentors and they guided me amazing well and made me a better person.
Today, I hear a lot of times from friends YOU GOT LUCKY.
I say,
I TOOK A DECISION, I TOOK A RISK TO ENTER IN AN UNKNOWN TERITORY, I CAME OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE, I STRUGGELED TO CHANGE MY PERSONALITY, I DID SOMETHING BEYOND MY INTEREST, I ACCEPTED THE CHANGE, I LEFT MY EGO BEHIND AND DID EVERYTHING THAT WAS REQUIRED TO BE DONE.
TODAY,
I hear people saying,
This is not my interest, I am looking a job opportunity only, I am looking for opportunity in my domain only, I am not a sales guy, I have no interest in reading, I don’t want to invest time in getting new skills, I know all about it, I am a tech expert how can I go into sales and marketing, I KNOW THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WILL CRIB FOR BAD LUCK IN FUTURE.
LUCK comes in to life all the time, may be in a different face that you were not expecting, ITS LIKE NOT READING A BOOK JUST BECAUSE COVER DESIGN WAS NOT GOOD. Ha ha ha.
People are not lucky – They are just OPEN MINDED, SERIOUS ABOUT WHAT RESULT THEY WANT, THEY WORK HARD, THEY HAVE NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE, THEY WAIT WITH LOT OF PATIENCE, THEY KEEP ON GOING IN WHEN THE SITUATIONS ARE NOT LOOKING GOOD, THEY ARE OPEN TO MEET EVEN STRANGERS AND LEARN FROM THEM, THEY OPEN FOR NEW FRIENDSHIPS, THE ARE OKAY TO CHANGE, THEY MAKE TOUGH CHOICES, THEY DO WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE DONE NOT ONLY WHAT THEY LIKE TO DO. THEY ARE JUST OPEN TO EVERYTHING.
BECAUSE THEIR DOORS ARE WIDE OPEN TO RECEIVE EVERYTHING, LUCK ALSO MOVES IN WITH EVERYTHING ELSE.
