The dawn of 2021, brought with itself, a new opportunity to restart from where we left. The pandemic led to a steep fall in the economy and prevailed unimaginable stress over various business verticals including healthcare, tourism, hospitality, to name a few. Now that we have entered into the last phase of our war against the viral contagion, the need of the hour is that we put in collaborative efforts to help the nation bounce back.
While we all have to contribute our bit in the act of Nation-building, I urge the youth of this nation to step ahead and shoulder this responsibility. Our Nation is our pride and the youth of today, are the leaders of tomorrow. It is my firm belief that the younger generation can play a central role in rejuvenating the economy of the nation. And this can be achieved by:
Leveraging existing capabilities to tap maximum benefits: The analytical skills of Indians have been recognized from the phenomenal contributions they have made in the area of IT. Our nation is today considered a leading IT superpower. The youth of the country can seize this opportunity to become key contributors to the global IT space further adding to the strength of the country’s IT capabilities, and leverage this opportunity to demonstrate their, as well as the nation’s technical prowess.
Contributing to cement emerging opportunities: Our nation has been a global leader in pharmaceuticals, API,s and therapeutic drugs. We have been providing the world, some of the most sought after pharmaceutical drugs and ingredients. As a nation, India provided two of the safest vaccines required to contain the covid pandemic, for the world to be rightly termed as the pharmacy of the world. The Indian youth can enter and capture, key positions in the Global healthcare space to leverage benefits out of this name and fame of the country.
Participating and leading the start-up culture: This is the era of startups run by young blood. I urge the younger generation to come up with their thoughts and explore options in the startup space. Startups of today when clubbed with the immense potential of today’s youth can become MNCs of tomorrow.
Looking for unexplored avenues: India has a very limited presence in some areas-sophisticated health equipment and medical devices to be two of the major ones. Sectors like this not only present immense potential for the youth but also serve as an important vertical where Indian technology can directly compete and outplay existing offerings from Foreign health giants.
On the whole, only the youth of the country can rise to the occasion to help meet our dreams. We are fortunate to have a strong leadership and an environment conducive to business and start-ups. Today presents a golden opportunity for the youth to come up with new ideas, make use of science and technology, and think out of the box to forward game-changing ideas and position our Nation as a Global Leader.
I call upon the Youth to take a pledge, this republic day, to steer the growth engine of the country and become the drivers of our hopes and aspirations.
Happy Republic Day.

3 年We need a culture of Integrity and Passion, we need to be efficient and competitive to rise above other countries. We need to improve education, nutrition and skills. We need people who think progressively and rise above sectarian issues like religion and caste. We need to co opt everyone in the development agenda of this country, until then I am afraid, sadly,we will continue to regress.
