AN OPEN LETTER TO URSULA VAN LEYDEN - WHO COVERS UP CORRUPTION
Dear Ursula, See my 'just published Memoir 'Memories and Obversions'. This gives chapter and verse on the impositions the Irish People have to suffer in the EU. Previously I’ve written to your associate, Vera Jourova - however, as a European Commissioner like you - has chosen to ignore the corruption in Ireland that I related to her. Therefore, I’m hoping that you as - President will have more morals and expose the underhand dealings that flourish in Ireland. EG, Leo Varadkar, the ex leader of the opposition has become Taoiseach again, [prime minister]. In a sly deal that usurped Democracy he stepped aside for two years to allow Michael Martin to take the top job. Martin had previously been the Taoiseach
However in another sly deal which would not be tolerated anywhere else in the EU, Varadkar divulged confidential information to a friend. To overcome this disgraceful betrayal of his office, he - as the saying goes ‘played SIPO like a banjo’. In case you don’t know Ursula - this anagram stands for Standards In Public Office. Although in this case it should be Scandals In Public Office. SIPO, in a direct contradiction of its office [they knew not to jeopardise their careers in government] refused to adjudicate on the corruption of Varadkar’s ethics. The Police after an investigation let the matter drop.
In another sly deal the government led by Michael Martin decided to abolish the 500,000 euro cap that was put on Bankers Pay after they bankrupted the country. The mind boggles at this ‘cap’. They will now be allowed to be paid a 20,000 euro bonus. This cap was introduced after the last crash to supposedly rein in the excesses and rampant corruption of the Banks. It didn’t work. One Banker was paid 900,000 and two Banks fined 2 million euros for their scandalous behaviour towards clients during the Tracker Fraud. Obviously this was all done within the Law.
I assume Ursula at this point you are asking where were the Police when these scandals were taking place? Don’t you know, in Ireland money talks and rich bankers are above the law. Under this government - Ireland is the only Banana Republic in the EU. Michael Martin attempted to defend Bankers pay rise by saying all bank employees are deserving of a rise.
An interesting point: recently I again complained to SIPO, the SO CALLED - Standards in Public Office committee - they previously, along with the Justice Committee, the Public Accounts and the Comptroller and Auditor General - all ignore the Asbestos related deaths at Belfast Docks. I ask, Ursula, is it possible after 50 years to investigate the bank accounts of union officials and ICTU at the time?
Ursula, as a woman how can you ignore the shocking treatment of Irish Women in the Cervical Smear Scandal - and the recent death of Vicky Phelan? Why will you not demand that Ireland lives up to EU Standards? - This is just the proverbial tip of the iceberg on how women have been treated in Ireland. The abject scandal of the supposed nurturing Mother and Baby Homes where a shocking number of infant deaths happened - and not all were recorded. Why, were they allowed to starve to death because their mothers were not married? Medical experiments were also carried out on innocent babies. Obviously you know about the mass graves - and one in particular where 800 babies where discarded in a sewer pit? Or - are you going to claim ignorance?
Ursula, will you watch the Podcast which relates to PFI’s and still remain silent? PFI’s refer to women in England who were ‘Pregnant From Ireland’. Once the Catholic Church in England became aware of them, they were kidnapped and returned to Ireland, where their babies ‘died’ or were sold to childless couples.
The heart-breaking stories of mothers searching for their babies and vice versa is horrendous. Yet many are still being denied knowledge of each other. The mothers were told bluntly that their baby had died. The scandals in Ireland are seeming endless. Just recently it has emerged that even the upper class private schools like Blackrock College were not immune from Catholic Paedophiles. These are the schools where most of our Bankers were educated.

Ursula, obviously Vera Jourova has fallen for the obfuscations of the Puppets of Irish Employers - who agreed with everything she said - and then ignored her. The facts are: Because of the manoeuvres of the wealthy in not building houses, i.e. the leading lights in the parties of Leo Varadkar and Michael Martin - to keep prices up, well over 11,000 people and 3,480 children are homeless. Rents are so high - well over 2,000 a month, that many people can’t afford to both eat and heat their homes. I ask you Ursula, where are the benefits for the Irish in belonging to the EU?
You must step in and say stop. Tell the Wealthy Bankers in Ireland to forgo their scandalous pay rises and behave like EU members - or you will sanction and expose them. For Bankers to say that 500,000 a year plus benefits is not enough, is disgusting. 50 years ago Left Wing parties campaigned against joining the Common Market - claiming it was a rich man’s club. How right they were. Not long ago the Irish People had to pay - with austerity - for the “financial expertise” of the greedy wealthy. They caused the pain and suffering - paid nothing at all - and are about to do it all again.
It has to work both ways, Ursula, if you wish to retain the high standards you claim for the European Union - you must stop the corruption in Ireland. Either we are paid up members of the EU or we are not.
