An Open Letter to Nextivity Employees, Partners and Customers
Today is the one-year anniversary of me joining Nextivity … and what a year it has been!??
After a 22-year career at a Fortune 500 company I elected to take 14 months off to refresh my mind, body and soul.??I can tell anyone considering a mid-career sabbatical: it is well worth it.??After my time off I felt more energetic, could think more clearly, and felt better than I had in a long time.?
Once I started looking for my next opportunity, I felt very blessed to have so many companies to consider and really appreciated the help of the executive placement firms that were representing me.??I thought about what was important to me to ensure that I landed in the right place.??What I ended up prioritizing was the following:
-?????????Culture – I wanted to be with a company that had a strong culture.?One that was service oriented, collaborative and focused on the employee, partner and customer success.??
-?????????Technology – I wanted to be at a company with a pervasive technology that when implemented properly could help others be successful.
-?????????Growth – Let’s face it… being in a company that is experiencing growth is more fun than trying to sustain sales in a market that is shrinking.
-?????????Size of company – In my career I had worked for nothing but Fortune 500 companies.??I always admired the smaller companies that were out there making a difference.?They can be more responsive to the market and make decisions more quickly.
When I was introduced to the leadership of Nextivity I quickly realized this company checked all the boxes.??The people and culture are amazing.?Everyone pulls together and does what’s right for our employees, customers, and partners.??Then the technology… I have worked for some of the most technologically-focused companies, and I can assure you the engineers at Nextivity are some of the best in the world.??They turn out solutions that are unmatched in the industry.??When it comes to growth, the company had just come off a good year and seemed to be ready to experience exceptional growth - and with under 100 employees, the way they were out-pacing companies so much bigger than them was incredibly impressive!
I knew after just a few days of speaking and meeting with the Nextivity team that this was the place for me.
I can tell you one year into my career here at Nextivity it has been so much better than I could have ever expected.??Some of the highlights of my year are:

-?????????The Employees: Over the last year I have gotten to know and appreciate our employees.??They are amazing and so focused on bringing the best solutions to the market via our partners.???We have a very high retention rate and have been able to expand the team to support our growth forecast.??
-?????????Process Improvement:?This company has BIG growth plans and we have worked hard this year to put in place scalable processes.??The way the team came together and focused on implementing best in class processes was exciting.??People were asked to step into new roles and lead process improvement projects, and it was so inspiring to watch people grow and make the entire company better.??
-?????????Partners: I have built my career on the shoulders of amazing partnerships.??I have loved getting to know the Nextivity partners and forming new friendships.??I was able to host Nextivity’s first NEXUS Partner Event and again was moved by the support of our partners and how excited they were about what we are doing.
-?????????Overcoming Adversity: This was not an easy year.??We (like so many) struggled with supply chain, transportation, and had to end of life some long-lived products.???Over the past year we have worked closely with our partners and customers to navigate our way through these challenges.?It was so rewarding!?You really grow through adversity.?At the end of the year we were stronger than ever, and we entered 2023 with our core products having a 30 day lead time.??To accomplish this lead-time goal required a transformation of our supply chain, manufacturing and logistics.
-?????????Growth – The ultimate measurement of success as a CCO is the sales number, right?????Well, again, this is a highlight for not only me but every employee at Nextivity.??We finished 2022 having grown the company 43%.??
I am so grateful for all the support from our Nextivity employees, partners and customers.??All of these highlights wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of so many.??
Professionally, 2022 was my most rewarding year.??I have never experienced so much success in one year.?
I look forward to continuing to build on the wonderful foundation we have here at Nextivity.?So many great things are ahead for our company which mean exceptional growth for our partners and success for our customers.?
