Open Letter to LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky: Time For Free Speech.

Good morning Ryan Roslansky

I'm sure you saw.

Mark Zuckerberg just surrendered censorship on Meta / Facebook.

Now it is LinkedIn / 微软 ’s turn.?

Zuckerberg Commits To Free Speech

Ryan, it is (long) past time for social media companies to embrace the most fundamental of American core values.?

As Zuckerberg says,

“Now we have the opportunity to restore free expression, and I am excited to take it.”?

LinkedIn users like me who do not appreciate being de-platformed for sharing content that you don’t like.

LinkedIn (like Facebook) has been woke, censorship, DEI central.

Time to stop.

During the election, President Trump declared a "plan to shatter the left-wing censorship regime, and to reclaim the right to Free Speech for all Americans."

Zuckerberg now says,

“the recent elections also feel like a cultural tipping point, towards once again, prioritizing speech”

Now it’s your turn.

Ryan, we want free speech on LinkedIn.

Thanks for your time and best wishes for a legendary 2025,

Christopher Lochhead?

It sounds so catchy when people claim free speech is under attack due to cencorship on social media platforms. However, simple stataments are rarely the whole story. Free speech, i.e. safety from fear of punishment by the state is one thing. But if we look at social media platforms, they are businesses that make their money from keeping people on the platforms so they can be exposed to advertisement. Simple. And it's a lot of money. So they have a huge interest in keeping their users on their platforms. Then you might ask, so how do they do that. With content of course, generated by the users. And what kind of content gets people's attention and engagement? Not the boring, non-polarising, fact checked and dry stuff you might find on traditional news media. In fact, the more outrageous the content is, the more people it gets riled up, for and against, and there are we are. Fighting our corners, staying engaged. The polarisation and division of people is rather profitable. So who wants boring fact checking? So don't be fooled to thinking the social media billionaires don't have an agenda. They have just framed it in a way that makes you eat it all up and ask for more. And do they want control over TikTok for your safety? Sure.

Since when does " Free Speech" cover for lies!

Truth should be the first priority in social media. This isn’t the positive shift you think it is.

Zuckerberg is such a loser. Merely swaying with the political winds. If Democrats get back in power, he will quickly revert to suppressing what they don’t want to hear.
